USA Cares provides programs that help members in several ways. In these situations, USA Cares provides emergency financial assistance. The organization also assists with job placement services and housing to prevent evictions and foreclosures. In addition to these programs, USA Cares specializes in helping with unseen combat injuries, such as post-traumatic stress (PTS) and traumatic brain injury (TBI).

According to the website, the organization assisted with more than 75,000 cases and provided more than $11.5 million in indirect support grants in 2015. The charity maintains a relatively low administration cost rate of 6.92%, and more than 80% of donations go directly to programs and services.
